Coastal Habitat Survey (baseline)
Habitat and ecosystem data used to conduct a baseline survey of coastal habitat in the Canadian Great Lakes in support of the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement (Annex 7, Habitat and Species). The baseline habitat survey integrates various internal and external data sources that are collected or produced by various government and non-government organizations and integrated into this dataset. Make faster decisions related to cyanobacterial algal blooms. The Cyanobacteria Assessment Network mobile application (CyAN app) is an easy-to-use and customizable app that provides access to cyanobacterial bloom satellite data for over 2,000 of the largest lakes and reservoirs across the United States. EPA scientists developed the app to help local and state water quality managers make faster and better-informed management decisions related to cyanobacterial blooms. This network helps to connect acoustic telemetry researchers and their projects, and assists in the sharing of equipment and data within the Great Lakes basin. Projects are formulated to take advantage of tags, surgically implanted in fish, which transmit unique codes at regular intervals. [Access to the GLATOS Data Portal requires registration in GLATOS as a member. Membership is granted to any individual serving as a principal Investigator (PI) or as a co-principal investigator of a past, on-going, or future acoustic telemetry project focused in the Laurentian Great Lakes, their connecting waters, or Lake Champlain who plans to contribute tag detection data and to access tag detection data from GLATOS.] Publisher: Great Lakes Acoustic Telemetry Observation System (GLATOS)
A powerful, cloud-based platform, Seagull enables observers to understand live lake conditions (air & water temperature, wind speeds, water currents, air pressure, wind direction) and make informed decisions; contextualize information using search, a beautiful map, and simple visualization; easily connect a device or data source and share it with thousands of other people; and track buoys, sensors, or other observing platforms in real-time.
